Showtiels.com was formed to house a collection of exhibitors in 2000.  Creator, Leslie Huegerich, has been designing websites since 1993 and began designing the National Cockatiel Society website.  The need arose for exhibitors to have quality websites and a place to host them economically.  Today, Showtiels.com has grown to include a private Yahoo Group run by Leslie and her exhibition buddy, Wendy Labanca.  The group has fostered novice cockatiel exhibitors all over the US and continues to be the oldest exhibition group on the internet.  Our initial site included sites for our friends Keith Reimer, Robert Spicnall, Julia Allen, and Phil Feret.  Throughout time, Showtiels expanded and now has six aviaries that show and exhibit from North Carolina straight across the US to California.

Showtiels has big ties to the National Cockatiel Society.  We have three members who are on the NCS Board of Directors.  Josh Maple is the President of the NCS (Mapleleaf Aviaries), Leslie is the Journal Editor (K&L Aviary) and Linda Arnett is the Secretary (OC Tiels).  We also have State Coordinators:  Julie Mitchell (JA Aviaries)- VA, Linda Arnett (OC Tiels)-CA, Scott and Kim Mackey (Fancy Feathers)-MI, and Leslie Huegerich (K&L Aviary)-NC.  Judges of NCS include Josh Maple and Scott Mackey.
